
A mixture of Oddfellows and U3A people spent a sunny day out on Saturday 10th May 2008. Seven went by car, twent-eight by Southern's splendid trains and ate an excellent buffet on board.
The big canal cruiser "Richmond" (pictured above) had staff that were extremely helpful, ensuring a 90 year old mum in a wheelchair, moved effortlessly on and off the boat. While two late comers were driven, by another volunteer to the halfway point so they didn't miss the meal or the walk in the lush meadow.
Up on deck we observed cygnets and coot chicks with May's flowery profusion along the banks.
Sightseeing in Chichester included a free guided tour of one cathedral, a free art gallery and museum, with shopping of course. Everyone seems to have enjoyed their excursion
